A Kurdish man was killed in a police shooting on Monday on Khorramabad Road in western Iran. According to Hengaw Kurdish website, the man was identified as Mohammad Sadeghi.

The state security forces opened fire at the Kurdish man’s car on suspicion of transporting smuggled goods. This is while Mohammad Sadeghi’s car was empty and he was not carrying any goods.

Security forces and police in the northwestern and western cities of Iran open fire with impunity, injuring and killing innocent locals.

An annual report by a human rights group said that at least 204 Iranian citizens were directly or indirectly killed or wounded by Iran’s state security forces in 2020, of which 74 lost their lives.

In another development on March 18, one man was killed, and another was injured in a police shooting in Kermanshah western Iran.

The men were identified as 25-year-old Sirvan Mohammadi and 70-year-old Ali Ahmadi. They were both injured and taken to the hospital but Sirvan died due to the severity of his wounds. Both men were followers of the Yarsani religious minority group, banned by the Iranian regime.

The shooting started when police intervened in a local clash.
