US-led aircraft carry out 61 raids in Iraq since Monday: military

WASHINGTON, Dec 17, 2014 (AFP) — US and allied warplanes carried out 61 air strikes against Islamic State jihadists in Iraq since Monday, including dozens of raids in support of Kurdish forces, the military said Wednesday.
The air assault backing the Peshmerga Kurdish forces "destroyed approximately 50 targets," the US military command overseeing the air war said in a statement.
