London, Oct 9, 2019 (AFP) — British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said on Wednesday he had "serious concerns" over Turkish military operations launched hours earlier in northeast Syria.

"I have serious concerns about the unilateral military action that Turkey has taken," he said in a statement.

"This risks destabilising the region, exacerbating humanitarian suffering, and undermining the progress made against Daesh which should be our collective focus," he added, using the Arabic name for the Islamic State (IS) group.
