BAGHDAD, Oct 23, 2007 (AFP) — Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan on Tuesday put the emphasis on diplomatic moves to resolve the crisis over Kurdish rebels operating against Ankara from northern Iraq.

"Politics, dialogue, diplomacy, culture and economy are the measures to deal with this crisis," Babacan told reporters in Baghdad at a joint press conference with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshyar Zebari.

"We do not want to sacrifice our cultural and economic relations with Iraq for the sake of a terror organisation," he said, refering to the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).
