"It's a historic vote," Erdogan said in a televised speech in his hometown of Rize in the Black Sea coast, as parliament was voting on the overall bill.
"My people do not want to see guilty lawmakers in this parliament especially the supporters of the separatist terrorist organisation," Erdogan said.
The president was referring to the pro-Kurdish Peoples Democratic Party (HDP) which he says is the political front of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), against which the Turkish army has launched an offensive. The PKK has been waging a three-decade-old insurgency.
Turkey's parliament on Friday adopted two clauses of the bill which, if approved, will lift the immunity of roughly 138 deputies from all parties who face potential prosecution.
But the HDP says the bill is essentially a move to expel its members from parliament.
MPs were debating the overall bill on Friday in parliament.
