Ankara, Jan 8, 2019 (AFP) — Turkey has denied promising the United States it would protect Syrian Kurdish militia forces in Syria, a presidential spokesman said Tuesday as Washington prepares for a troop pullout.
"Nobody should expect Turkey to provide assurances to a terror organisation," President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's spokesman Ibrahim Kalin told journalists in Ankara after a meeting with White House National Security adviser John Bolton.
