Syria Kurds urge intl coalition to protect facilities holding jihadists

Qamishli, Syria, Jan 20, 2026 (AFP) — Mazloum Abdi, head of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces, urged a US-led international coalition to take responsibility for protecting facilities holding Islamic State group members in Syria after his forces withdrew from several.
