Syria Kurds condemns 'crimes' against civilians, after mass killings

Qamishli, Syria, March 9, 2025 (AFP) — Syria's semi-autonomous Kurdish administration condemned on Sunday deadly violence against civilians on the country's Mediterranean coast, where mass killings of the Alawite minority community have occurred.

The Kurdish administration in Syria's north and east "firmly condemns the crimes committed against our people on the coast and underlines that these practices take us back to a dark period that the Syrian do not want to relive," it said in a statement that called for the perpetrators to be pursued.
