Syria Kurds announce transitional autonomous government

ARBIL, Iraq, Nov 12, 2013 (AFP) — Syrian Kurds in the northeast have formed a transitional autonomous government, they said in a statement Tuesday, after making key territorial gains against jihadists in recent weeks.
The announcement was made after talks in the mostly-Kurdish town of Qamishli, and comes after Kurdish leaders announced plans to create the temporary government in July.
