ANKARA, June 19, 2010 (AFP) — Seven Turkish soldiers were killed and eight others wounded in an attack on an army post Saturday by Kurdish rebels in southeast Turkey, the Anatolia news agency reported.

The attack took place not far from the city of Semdinli, near the borders of Iran and Iraq, according to Anatolia, which claimed separatists from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) were responsible for the assault.
