Ankara, May 13, 2025 (AFP) — Turkey's pro-Kurdish DEM party said Tuesday that it wanted to see "confidence-building measures" from the government a day after the Kurdish militant PKK announced the end of four-decades of armed struggle.

Tuncer Bakirhan, co-chair of DEM, which played a key role in facilitating contacts with the PKK, urged the government to make some "humane, concrete confidence building steps" before the Eid al-Adha holiday that begins in early June.
