The clash occurred in Yuksekova town when Kurdish demonstrators passed by the office of a local association known for its support for Turkish Hezbullah, a violent outlawed organization that is mainly active in the southeast.
Gunshots allegedly fired by the protestors killed 30-year-old Ubeydullah Durna, a member of the Mustazaf-Der association, Anatolia news agency said.
The Turkish Hezbullah, which has no known links to its Lebanese namesake is listed by Ankara as a terrorist organization that seeks to replace the country's secular system with a hardline Islamic regime.
The organization had its heyday in 1990s and it is widely believed the authorities at that time tolerated it because it also targeted Kurdish separatists.
Some members of Mustazaf Der were detained by police early this year for alleged links to Hezbullah, while the head of the association is the lawyer of some Hezbullah leaders, media reports said.
At least seven people, among them four policemen, were injured in Diyarbakir Wednesday as Kurds held violent demonstrations at the funeral of four of seven Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) militants killed by the army last week.
The PKK, listed as a terrorist group by Ankara and much of the international community, took up arms for self-rule in the southeast in 1984, sparking a conflict that has claimed some 45,000 lives.
