ANKARA, Nov 1, 2010 (AFP) — The Kurdish rebel leadership Monday rejected responsibility for a suicide bombing in Istanbul Sunday that left 32 people wounded, the Firat news agency, which is close to the militants, reported.

"It is not possible for us to carry out such an action at a time when our movement has decided to extend a truce process... We are in no way involved in this attack," the statement said, according to Firat.

The separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) also announced Monday that it had extended a truce declared on August 13 until Turkey's next general elections, expected to be held in June.
