"The ministries of defense and foreign affairs must submit a precise report on border violations," parliament speaker Mahmud Mashhadani said, referring to reports of Iranian forces entering Iraqi territory and shelling Kurdish rebel positions.
Mashhadani reacted after a Kurdish MP suggested Iraq condemn the incursions.
Outgoing Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, a Kurd, said "I do not believe there is great danger in this region, though it is true that there have been violations on the frontier.
"The Iraqi government is doing what has to be done with the concerned countries."
On Sunday, the defense ministry said Iranian forces had entered Iraq and shelled Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) positions over a period of 24 hours. The following day, Iran refused to confirm or deny the claim.
PKK members have said Iranian forces sporadically shelled positions even on Monday and Tuesday, forcing hundreds of Kurds to flee to safer areas.
The PKK opposes Ankara's rule in southeastern Turkey. Iran is bound by treaty with Turkey to fight the outlawed PKK, which has waged a 15-year insurgency against Ankara for self rule in the mainly Kurdish southeast.
In return, Turkey has pledged to fight the Iranian armed opposition group, the Iraq-based People's Mujahedeen.
