"Ehsan Aghajani, a police officer from the western province of Ilam, was martyred hours ago after being directly hit by rioters' bullet in the Malekshahi region," it said.

Malekshahi is a district of 20,000 people, many of them from Iran's Kurdish minority. Already on Saturday clashes cost the life of one security official.
