STRASBOURG, France, March 18, 2014 (AFP) — The European Court of Human Rights condemned Turkey on Tuesday over its treatment of jailed Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan.
The court ruled that holding Ocalan, who has been behind bars since 1999, in isolation on the island prison of Imrali constituted mistreatment by the Turkish authorities.
