ROME, July 27, 2009 (AFP) — Twenty-five Kurdish immigrants from Iran and Iraq arrived in southern Italy on Monday in a fishing boat that got stuck on a sandbank near the town of Bianco, police said.

The Greek-flagged boat, which included four women and three minors, probably arrived from Turkey, police in the town of Africo said.

The group was identified and allowed to remain free while authorities review their cases, police said.
