During the recent protests in the Kurdish cities in Iran against the rise in petrol prices, many civilians were injured by firearms and undercover officers. Many of casualties are being treated at home rather than being hospitalized for fear of being identified and arrested.

Concern over the Physical Health of dozens of Casualties in Kurdish cities

Sources inside the Kurdish cities in Iran indicate that more than 100 civilians, who sustained injuries by gunfire, are still being home-treated in many cities, including Kermanshah, Javanrud, Marivan, Sanandaj and Bukan. The health condition of some of those casualties has gone worse due to restricted access to healthcare facilities.

These people refuse to go to medical centres for fear of being detained by the Iranian security forces as a number of casualties have been transferred to security detention centres upon their arrival to the medical centres. 

Security and undercover forces are present at all health centres in the cities to observe any movements.

Dozens of Detainees held at Orumiyeh Security Detention Centres

More than 50 protesters detained during a protest rally in Orumiyeh on 16 November have been held at the detention centres of the Security Police, the Intelligence Ministry and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC), a local source in Orumiyeh told Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN).

According to the source, two Kurdish civilians of Orumiyeh, Salah Gholizadeh and Yawar Farzadi, who were arrested by the security forces, were transferred to the Orumiyeh Central Prison after a week of interrogation.

Continued Security Measures and Detention of civilians in Marivan

Local sources told the Kurdistan Human Rights Network (KHRN) that “masked security forces and plainclothes are still presenting in Marivan, blocking passers-by and inspecting people’s mobile phones without judicial authorization while arresting people who hold photos or videos of recent protests.”

The forces have also raided cafe shops in the city and arrested civilians.

More than 200 Children Arrested During Protests at Different Cities of Kurdistan

More than 200 children have been detained during recent protests in the cities of Kermanshah, Javanrud, Sanandaj, Marivan, Saqqez and Bukan, local sources told the KHRN.

A number of these children have been released on bail although most of them are still detained at the courtyard of Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC) camps, placement detention centres, security offices and the Correctional Center.

According to reports, a 17-year-old boy, Ervin Ramin detained in Marivan, went into a coma under the severe torture by the security forces.

Continued Security Measures and Threatening the Families of Victims killed by Security Agencies in Javanrud

The funeral of four protesters- including Kaveh Mohammadi, Mobin Abdollahi from Schwankara village, Jabar Tajare and Ali (Younis) Firouzbakht- who were all killed by the Iranian security forces on 16 and 17 November was held in various mosques of the city, local sources told KHRN.

According to the source, security forces have threatened the families of these people of not giving any interviews to the media and International Human Rights Organizations about how the victims were killed.

The KHRN had earlier reported that at least six protesters were shot dead by security agencies in Javanrud and more than 25 were injured. The report identified four of the dead as Mobin Abdollahi, Kaveh Mohammadi, Ibrahim Moradi, Ali (Younis) Firouzbakht and Jabar Tajare.

Meanwhile, the night-time detention of civilians is still ongoing in Javanrood, and no exact information of the detainees is available.
