BAGHDAD, April 20, 2006 (AFP) — Iraqi leaders on Thursday decided to cancel a much-awaited parliament session for the second time in a week, Kurdish lawmaker Mahmoud Othman told AFP.

"The political blocs agreed to postpone today's parliament session on a request from the Shiite alliance until Saturday afternoon," Othman said.

He said the Shiite United Iraqi Alliance had assured the other blocs that it would decide on a candidacy of the next premier by Saturday.
