PARIS, Feb 9, 2007 (AFP) — Five Kurds from Turkey have been placed under investigation in France after being arrested on suspicion of money-laundering on behalf of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), officials said on Friday.

The five are being investigated on suspicion of among a group of "criminal association in relation with a terrorist enterprise" as well as "funding terrorism" and "organised money-laundering".

The PKK is regarded as a terrorist organisation by the European Union, the United States and Turkey.

Ten other Kurds were to go before a judge Friday.

The Kurds were seized earlier this week as part of an investigation headed by France's top anti-terrorist judge, Jean-Louis Bruguiere.
