
First Kurdish fighters from Turkey arrive in Iraq: AFP

HARUR, Iraq, May 14, 2013 (AFP) — The first group of Kurdish fighters leaving Turkey as part of a push for peace with Ankara arrived in the Harur area of Iraqi Kurdistan early Tuesday, an AFP reporter said.
"We are the first group to reach the safe area in Iraq," said Jagar, the leader of the group of Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) fighters, which comprised nine men and six women.
